Holland Park in Schwanebeck: Opening spring 2022

Holland is closer than you think! A new leisure park in traditional Dutch style is opening soon, just outside Berlin. With shopping experiences, fun and games and restaurants, the park has plenty to offer visitors of all ages and is easy to reach on the A10/11. Entry to the park is free, as is parking. Tickets have to be bought for some attractions.

In the indoor play area and climbing hall there are two floors of exciting games and activities, 48 climbing walls and a variety of party rooms just waiting to be discovered by adventure-seekers. Next door there are the escape rooms, where kids become detectives and set out to solve the mystery. Young builders enjoy themselves in the “Bausteenen-Pardijs” where there are an unbelievable 10,000 bricks, with which they can build their own large or small creations.

The lookout tower with its slides is not for the weak-hearted. At just under 21 metres, it is Germany´s third tallest. From the top, those who are brave enough can enjoy a fabulous view of the area before setting off back down on one of seven routes. Apart from the stairs, there are six slides to choose from – for those who dare! The park´s landmark is a fully functional, octagonal windmill. In the flour mill museum, visitors learn how in the olden days people used wind power to grind the corn. Information on the mechanics of a flour mill is also provided.

There are more highlights in the “Molenhuis”, among them the “Bloemen-Café”, where 86 hanging baskets of flowers are suspended from the ceiling and provide a radiant display of colour all through the year. Below them there are delicious Dutch specialities to sample and enjoy. Then there is the “Jungle Hal”, where there is not only a fantastic plant kingdom to admire, but also koi-carp, meerkats, tortoises and turtles. Loris – small, monkey-like primates – are fun to watch as they play.

The outdoor area also has a lot to offer visitors. Alongside a petting zoo, several playgrounds for different age groups – one of them a water playground – there is also a choice of restaurants for a meal or snack during a shopping spree in the market or garden centre. The park opens in spring 2022.
